Autosamdri 815B, Series A large capacity fully automatic critical point dryer

Large chamber, fully automatic critical point dryer with advanced auto-pressure and temperature control

Autosamdri®-815, Series B is a fully automatic critical point dryer with a large (114.3mm ID) specimen chamber – ideal for critical point drying large specimens or numerous small specimens. Smooth, simple operation and precise critical point drying process control ensure reproducible results with a wide range of specimen types. Applications include SEM, FIB/SEM, gels and small MEMS. The 815 Series A features indicator LEDs which signal every mode of operation at a glance and a bottom-lit chamber for clear observation of chamber and specimens.

A recommended option is the environmentally friendly SOTER™ condenser, which separates waste alcohol from the carbon dioxide exhaust discharge and reduces exhaust noise.

Specimen holders

The Autosamdri®-815, Series B​ is truly flexible and an example is its specimen holding capabilities. Large specimens can be directly loaded into the critical point drying chamber whilst for smaller specimens the large capacity chamber will accept smaller specimen holders. For times when small volume critical point drying is required, the system comes with three Teflon® chamber inserts, enabling the internal chamber diameter to be reduced to 76mm, 51mm or 32mm.

8761 TEM grid holder
The most advanced new design holds 12 x 3.05mm grids (may also be used to hold smaller sized wafers). Includes numbered slots for easy specimen identification and processing in the SAMDRI®.

8762 holder for 12 specimens

For 12 specimens, each compartment is 7.5mm in diameter and 6mm in height.
Each compartment has alternative numbers stamped on it for easy specimen identification.

8764 holder for four specimens

For up to four specimens at a time, each compartment measures 9mm diameter 16mm height.

815B critical point dryer options

SOTER™ condenser

This option quietly separates waste alcohol from the carbon dioxide exhaust discharge from the PVD-3D process chamber.

Includes 375mm carboy exhaust tubing, 250mm condenser exhaust tubing, 75mm clear drain tubing and exhaust connection.

LCO2 cylinder scales with remote display

Liquid carbon dioxide cylinder (tank) scale with remote LCD readout display. Critical point drying requires liquid carbon dioxide (not gas) and the cylinder will have a draw tubes rather than a two stage regulator.

Using this option is the best way to monitor LCO2 consumption, which is based on cylinder weight and not pressure. 400lb capacity. Reads either Lb or Kg

  2. Optional LCO2 cylinder scales if required (useful for determining amount of LCO2 in the cylinder)
